Wild Gourmet Crosses Ocean
on Hans Christian
Follow the adventures of Guy Grieve
in the Sunday Telegraph Travel Section as he sails from
Bonaire in the Caribbean Sea to the UK on a Hans Christian
41, with his wife and two young sons.
Guy is a dedicated adventurer, having recently spent a year alone, surviving
the Alaskan wilderness (Call of the Wild). His
most recent appearance was on the 2007 Channel 4 series, Wild Gourmet,
where he travelled through Britain living off the land.
The yacht of his choice for this adventure is the Hans Christian: “We
had come across a beautiful yacht called a Hans Christian…Outside it
was traditional, with simple lines, teak decks and an elegant canoe stern.
Down below it was dark and woody, cool compared with the intense heat and bright
light outside.” (Sunday Telegraph, 25/11/07)
Guy
found a Hans Christian 41 for sale in Bonaire and is
currently en route to the UK.

team, led by Australian Jack Hall, is dedicated to hand-building these yachts.
Some of them have nearly 25 years experience building Hans Christians. The man-hours
that go into each boat are simply incredible, particularly when compared to the
final cost.”
The 48T will be shipped to the Netherlands for the final fitting out and commissioning,
before being delivered to the new German owner in Autumn 2008.
